There is a great deal of conflicting and inaccurate information on the internet about podiatry and footcare. There is also a lot of confusion about who to see and what their qualifications are, so we decided to roll our sleeves up and do something about it.
It all started when we had a business coaching session which unveiled our thirst to educate and squash misinformation.
We created PodiPedia to be a free to use, evidence based patient information website (written by podiatrists) and a directory of HCPC registered podiatrists.
About the creators:
Sam Chidwick (BSc (Hons) Podiatry, MSc, HCPC registered) and Emma Price (BSc (Hons), BSc Podiatry, MFPM (Glasg), HCPC registered) have many years of combined experience in podiatry, working across a variety of settings. We now work together in private practice, Supafoot, and have become great friends.
We decided to stop becoming frustrated about the poor quality information out there and start contributing positively to it. Three months later….PodiPedia was born.
As the website grew, we realised how much we had taken on and the need to display and provide information in multiple formats. Based on this, we developed the PodiPedia YouTube channel and Blog which we add fresh content to as we go.
If you are a Podiatrist and wish to register your practice on the directory, click on the podiatrist dashboard (top right of the screen). If you have an idea you wish to contribute to the cause, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
